The University of Florida has announced that they will not move the LSU-Florida game out of Gainesville, even as Hurricane Matthew moves closer to the Sunshine State. University officials say they are not sure whether or not they will have to delay kickoff, which is scheduled for 11 am on Saturday. More information is expected to come by noon tomorrow.

According to research from the Associated Press and the Center for Public Integrity, Louisiana is one of eight states that has more opioid prescriptions than residents. Dr. David Holcombe with the state Office of Public Health says pharmaceutical companies push these pills as being safer than they are, and there’s a problem with patients demanding the painkillers.

Louisiana’s opioid prescription rate was 1.03 per capita in 2015.

Jefferson parish residents called for parish president Mike Yenni to resign at a city council meeting today, in light of allegations that Yenni had an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old boy. Resident Richard Brown maintains that Yenni also offered the teen a job when he was the mayor of Kenner.
