Congressman Charles Boustany is taking legal action against the author of “Murder in the Bayou” for making claims that the US Senate candidate was involved with prostitutes who were murdered in Jefferson Davis parish. Governor John Bel Edwards on Tuesday signed agreements with Cuba in the Caribbean island which points towards a deeper trade relationship as the situation between it and the US moves toward normalcy. State leaders say this sets the stage for Louisiana’s major ports to have a primary role when trade restrictions with Cuba are lifted.
