President Obama has signed a federal assistance package that contains $400 million for flood recovery efforts in Louisiana. Lafayette parish president Joel Robideaux sits on the Recovery Louisiana Taskforce, and he says they hope to have more information about when the aid will be available to people in the coming weeks. He says the taskforce is also looking into bridge loans from banks.

The Louisiana Economic Outlook report by LSU’s Dr. Loren Scott shows the state will lose 17-thousand jobs this year because of low oil prices. Scott says the state has been in a recession since August of 2015.

The sky was ablaze this morning in Webster Parish when a bunker full of explosives being stored at Cam Minden went off. The Louisiana State Police’s hazmat team determined that Clean Burning Ignitor auto-ignited in the earth covered bunker it was stored in, and the bunker was destroyed. Approximately 320-thousand pounds of CBI was initially stored in three bunkers. No one was injured in the explosion.

A video of a Louisiana man dancing in the delivery room around his pregnant wife has gone viral. The DeSoto Parish dancing daddy, 29-year-old Sky Jones, says he made the video to cheer up the people in his hometown, after a man was shot and killed a few days before.

Jones’ Facebook video has more than 11-thousand views, and it has been shared nearly 200 times.
