It’s a pivotal SEC West matchup tonight as the 18th ranked LSU Tigers visit the Auburn Tigers. The Bayou Bengals are looking to improve to 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference, while Auburn is trying to avoid an eighth straight home loss to Power 5 teams. Expect a low scoring, physical game. Auburn leads in SEC in rushing, while LSU has only scored 20 or more points twice at Auburn’s home stadium since 1994.

Louisiana Tech begins play in Conference USA when they visit Middle Tennessee. The Bulldogs easily beat the Blue Raiders last year, 45-16. Middle Tennessee has the top offense in the league so far this year, but their defense is not that good, they gave up 47 points to Vanderbilt earlier this year.

UL Lafayette and Tulane meet in New Orleans. The Green Wave rank 11th nationally in rushing, while Cajuns running back Elijah McGuire has rushed for 408 yards. Kick-off is at 7 PM.

 
Northwestern state and Southeastern Louisiana look for their first win tonight when the two teams meet in Hammond. These two teams will kick it off at 6PM and the game can be seen on C-S-T. Nicholls is at South Albama, while McNeese visits U-I-W. The Cowboys are coming off their first conference loss in more than a year.

In the SWAc, Southern is at Albama A-and-M, while Grambling hosts Alcorn State. Grambling has won the last two games in this series by a total of eight points.

In high school football last night….Haynesville beat Arcadia 40-12, while John Curtis defeated Brother Martin 26-9, Southern Lab blanked Ascension Catholic 50-0, Riverside knocked off Plaquemine 34-20 and West Feliciana was a winner over U-High 35-10.

The Saints square off with the Falcons on Monday night. Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan has the highest passing rating in the NFL. Atlanta’s middle linebacker is former LSU Tiger Deion Jones.
