Sad story out of Caddo Parish. Police say a school bus driver died after she was hit by a car in a roadway she was crossing to get to her bus. According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Karen Scroggins was going to her bus to begin her route around 6:30 this morning when she was struck. She was taken by ambulance to University Health, where she later died.

Authorities say a dangerous, escaped Assumption parish inmate has been captured. Lonny Cavalier with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Drake Domangue of Houma escaped Wednesday. He says the inmate is wanted by Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes for felony charges and parole violations, and he also has numerous traffic violations…:

Cavalier says Domangue was able to escape while he was being transferred from the Assumption Parish Detention Center to St. Mary parish for mental health evaluation and treatment.

On September 12th, almost 95-percent of Livingston parish students showed up for the first day back to class after the historic flood. Livingston School Superintendent Rick Wentzel says more than 24-thousand students returned to school last week. He says they were pleasantly surprised at the turnout…:
