A 28-year-old Avoyelles Parish man faces two counts of first degree murder in the death of his grandparents. Martel says 28-year-old Michael Mayeaux stabbed his grandparents and they are not discussing a motive.

Construction has only been completed on four flood victims’ homes as part of the new Shelter At Home program. Deputy Chief of Staff for the Governor’s Office, Julie Baxter Payer, says she expects that number to rise quickly over the next few days. She says with so many people registered for the program, it’s taking a while to get to them all.

LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center is conducting a study for the Department of Defense that seeks to improve soldiers endurance during physically demanding low calorie missions. Investigator Doctor Jennifer Rood says they will look to see if testosterone injections can prevent some of the side effects that occur during demanding work…
