LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center is conducting a study for the Department of Defense that seeks to improve soldiers endurance during physically demanding low calorie missions. Investigator Doctor Jennifer Rood says they will look to see if testosterone injections can prevent some of the side effects that occur during demanding work…

Lafayette resident David Hilbun’s video reacting to a Disney video on how to make gumbo has gone viral. Hilbun decided to produce his own video after Disney’s recipe video did not call for roux, but kale and quinoa instead….

The shelter at the Baton Rouge River Center closes today. Red Cross spokesperson Vicki Eichstaedt says the over 350 flood victims who are still in the shelter will be moved to another location in Baton Rouge. Eichstaedt says the Red Cross is redoubling their efforts to make sure no one is forgotten….

US Senator David Vitter chairs a meeting of the Senate Small Business Committee today to discuss the federal response for flood victims in Louisiana. Vitter says this is an important opportunity to explain just how devastating this flooding really was, and still is for many people….
