State police say a fatal crash in Ascension Parish claimed the live of a Prairieville man who wasn’t buckled up. They say 47-year-old Bart Todd crossed a center line into the other side of the road, then crashed into a culvert. He was unrestrained and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

Former Governor Edwin Edwards celebrated his 89th birthday with his family on Sunday, and The Cajun Prince says he feels better than ever. Edwards believes he’ll live to see 100 and contributes that to his lifestyle..:

We know feral hogs have been causing an incredible amount of damage in Louisiana — especially in agricultural areas, but new research out of LSU shows the wild pigs are also contaminating some water bodies through their waste. Dr. Michael Kaller with the LSU School of Renewable Resources says population control is needed to keep contamination levels down in the central Louisiana waterways…:
