Former Assistant Administrator at the Monroe war veterans home, Thomas Shoemaker, has been arrested after allegedly stealing money from a resident that’s described as having “severe cognitive impairment.” Louisiana Inspector General Stephen Street says it’s disappointing, because our veterans deserve the utmost care…

A Thibodaux man has been arrested after stealing donation containers from multiple convenience stores in Houma. Maj. Malcom Wolfe with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Walter Richard was caught on video at one of the stores….

Wolfe says Richard also took donation jars from three other locations. It’s uknown how much he actually took.

Authorities say at least 13 people have died in Lafayette and the surrounding area this year as a result of overdosing from the drug Fentanyl. Lafayette Police Corporal Paul Mouton says they are trying to identify the dealers of this drug that’s 50 times more potent than heroin…

LSU announces Tiger Stadium will not host the Bayou Country Superfest for at least the next two years, because of renovations needed inside the football stadium. Visit Baton Rouge President Paul Arrigo says they were looking forward to the 2017 event, which is the Capital City’s 200th birthday…
