State Police say a 14-year-old high school freshman from Houma was allegedly shot by a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s deputy.

This afternoon in St. John the Baptist the Baptist Parish, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy has been shot in an incident involving another deputy. A New Orleans TV station says the shooting was the result of some kind of domestic dispute at a residence. The deputy who was shot has been taken to the trauma center at a New Orleans hospital.

BP gets hit with another “no” in court, as a federal Judge ordered today that businesses will NOT have to pay BP back money the oil giant says was overpaid as a result of a flawed settlement money formula. BP said those who were overpaid should be forced to return the money, but Judge Carl Barbier said no.
