The Old Goernor’s Mansion in Opelousas burned down early this morning, and authorities say it’s a total loss. The Prudhomme House was the home of Governor Thomas Moore in the 1860s, and efforts had been underway to restore the site with the goal of using it as a Civil War museum. No one was in the home when the fire started. Investigators are trying to determine the cause.
