Emelie Gunn has the latest on the investigation into the fatal police shooting of Alton Sterling…:

We are learning more about the two officers who were involved in the fatal shooting of Sterling. According to police documents, the two men had four different “use of force” complaints against them and were cleared of all of them. For one of the officers, this is the second time, they’ve been involved in a police shooting.

Another vigil takes place tonight for Alton Sterling. A large crowd gathered for last night’s vigil at the scene where Sterling was shot multiple times. They heard from Sterling’s aunt, Sandra Sterling….

Brandon Boutin hired Sterling to be a line cook at a local Baton Rouge restaurant. He says that Sterling was known as the “CD man,” and that it wasn’t unusual to see him outside the store where he died trying to make a living…:

He says despite Sterling’s criminal past, he was working hard to straight out his life and make sure everything was on the up and up.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office arrests five individuals in a human trafficking case after they learned they had a 22-year-old woman locked up in a cage at a residence in Amite. Authorities say the suspects would take the young woman to have sex with multiple men for money.
