State Police say a deputy with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office shot and killed a man who allegedly came at the cop with a knife after a standoff. They say 40-year-old Shannon Labit of New Iberia is believed to have had stabbed two people earlier at a home before the standoff ensued. The deputy’s name is not being released at this time. The instigation is ongoing.
