Flesh-eating bacteria have been discovered at beaches along the Gulf Coast, and Biology Professor at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Dr. Gregory Buck says people should be cautious when entering the water with open cuts or scratches. He says if you believe you have the vibrio bacteria, go straight to the doctor because it can be life threatening.

There are about 10 to 15 cases of infection from this bacteria in Louisiana, annually.

People on both sides of the abortion debate are sounding off on the Supreme Court ruling that struck down a Texas abortion regulation law. Louisiana Executive Director of the National Organization for Women, Angela Adkins, hopes this paves the way for the similar law in Louisiana to be struck down.

Attorney General Jeff Landry says his office will continue to fight for Louisiana’s pro-life laws.

Cleco customers will get a credit on their July power bill as a result of the Pineville-based utility company’s sale to a foreign investment group. Opponents to the sale will have negative impacts on customers, like seeing their rates go up over time. But Cleco spokesperson Robbyn Cooper says customer shouldn’t notice a change in their service.

There have been conflicting reports over whether the Saints will hold mini-camp at the Greenbrier in West Virginia as planned, given the recent flooding the state has seen. Saints sideline reporter Kristian Garic says the Saints played a huge part in boosting morale in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and believes they would do the same in West Virginia.
