Another LSU baseball season has come to an end as Coastal Carolina completed a two-game sweep of the Tigers with a 4-3 win last night. LSU had plenty of chances to win and force a deciding game three in the Super Regional series. But the Tigers left eight runners on base in the final three innings and 12 for the game. The Shreveport Times reports that Louisiana Tech’s Phillip Diehl will forgo his senior season and sign with the Yankees. Diehl was selected in the 27th round by New York after striking out 90 hitters this past season. Bulldog pitchers Adam Atkins and Braden Bristo were also selected. Bristo went in the 23rd round to the Yankees, while the Mets took Atkins in the 18th round.

Big news out of the Southeastern Conference, Florida athletics director Jeremy Foley is stepping down after leading the Gators athletics program for 25 years. During those 25 years, Florida won 27 national championships.

LSU men’s basketball assistant Al Pinkins is leaving the Tigers to pursue another coachign opportunity. Pinkins spent just one season on Coach Johnny Jones’ staff.

Saints safety Roman Harper has posted a personal message on his facebook page. Harper says it was God’s plan for him to return to New Orleans and says he’ll smile and enjoy every second of this journey.
