D1 baseball projects, out of the field of 64, LSU could do a little traveling as they keep working on the road to Omaha. It has the Tigers heading to Hattiestburg, Mississippi for the Southern Miss Regional as the No. 2 seed. Southern Miss, the host team, would be the No. 1 seed with Wake Forest at No. 3 and Southeastern seeded No. 4. That same projection has the Hattiesburg Regional paired with the Starkville Regional, which would be led by Mississippi State and Tulane.

Speaking of Southeastern, they shutout the third-highest scoring team in the nation last night as six Lions pitchers combined to lead the team to a 15-0 non-conference win over Jackson State. Southeastern is now 32-13. The Lions next head to Lamar this weekend in a key Southland Conference series. The first-place Lions lead third-place Lamar by two games in the conference standings, with three weeks left in the regular season.

Louisiana Tech had an easy time over ULM in Ruston last night, as the Bulldogs downed the Warhawks 14-4. Tech plated the 14 runs on 12 hits and took advantage of 10 walks by ULM pitchers. LA Tech improved to 28-14 overall on the season while the Bulldogs have won six of their last seven and 10 of their last 12 games heading into this weekend’s three-game Conference USA home series against Middle Tennessee.

Ole Miss baseball Coach Mike Bianco, who played at LSU from 1988-89, and coached for the Tigers from 93-97, will reportedly be sending his son, Drew, to play ball for LSU.

The R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl this year will be in prime time once again in December as the Saints will be out of town. ESPN released the bowl schedule Wednesday. The December 17th contest in The Big Easy will take place December 17th at 8pm. The Camping World Independence Bowl in Shreveport will be at 5pm the day after Christmas.
