Lafayette Police say one of their officers is in stable condition after he was shot by a suspect last night. The shooting occurred while the officer was searching an apartment looking for a suspect who was invovled in a shooting the night before. Officials say the man who shot the officer is also in the hospital.

A new poll on the sixth district congressional race shows former Governor Edwin Edwards would not be favorite to win in a possible run-off against four different republican candidates. But pollster Darrell Glascock says don’t count Edwards out…
