The off-duty Slidell police office who was involved in a suspected drunk driving fatal accident on Sunday, has died from his injuries. State Police say Detective John Cole flipped his Jeep in the crash and his passenger, Daniel Hanlon, died on the scene. Marchand says impairment on the part of Cole is suspected. Hanlon was a coach and teacher at Salmon High School and he was laid to rest today.
