The powerful storms that plowed across south Louisiana Tuesday claimed the lives of at least two people in St. James Parish. The governor’s office of homeland security and emergency preparedness spokesperson, Mike Steele, says the Sugar hill trailer park in Convent served as a temporary home for those living there…:

Assumption and St. John were also hit hard and many schools and state offices are still closed today. Cleanup efforts are underway. The National Weather Service says at least 6 tornadoes could have touched down.
