Another candidate has thrown his hat in the ring for the US Senate race this year. State Treasurer John Kennedy says he plans to emphasize business and education if elected. He feels that today’s children could be the first generation of Americans to be worse off than their parents…:

Fellow Republicans, Congressmen Charles Boustany and John Fleming, and former Congressman Joseph Cao (gow) have also declared their intent to run. Retired COl Rob Maness is making his official announcement tomorrow.

The suspect in the shooting and injuring of a 12-year Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputy has been identified. Authorities say 26-year-old Jarvis Hardy is accused of shooting Deputy Stephen Arnold five times during a drug raid at a New Orleans residence. Arnold is in critical condition. NOPD says they plan to charge Hardy for attempted first degree murder.

New York Real Estate heir Robert Durst is reportedly going to enter a plea on February 3rd for a weapons charge that has held him in Louisiana.

A former popular children’s TV personality in north Louisiana known as Mr. Wonder is in custody on allegations of criminal sexual conduct with juveniles from a 37-year-old cold case.. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Tommy Carnline says 76-year-old Frank Selas’ alleged crimes date back to the 70s. HE says Selas would invite children ages 5-11 on weekend camping trips…:

Pelicans fans packed the Smoothie King Center last night for a lively game against the Rockets, but sadly New Orleans was edged by Houston 112-111. Anthony Davis left the game in the second quarter with concussion like symptoms. Jrue Holiday had a breakout game scoring 32 points and nine assists. But the Rockets James Harden scored 35 points and had eleven rebounds.
