Shreveport Police make an arrest in connection with a shooting at an apartment complex. Corporal Christopher Bordelon says following a thorough investigation, police arrested 19-year-old Javieon Abbott for shooting three children at the apartment complex’s basketball court.

Family members told local media in Shreveport that Sha’michael and his little sister were visiting their grandmother at the apartment complex, and he died while saving his sister amid the barrage of gunfire. Abbott is charged with second-degree murder, with other charges forthcoming.
Seven people are indicted in a major fraud scheme involving intentionally setting fires in Ouachita Parish. U.S. Attorney Zachary Keller says seven people – including family members and their associates – burned down 13 houses in Monroe and West Monroe and pocketed more than a million dollars in proceeds.
