On a vote of 77-22, the Senate passed the Protect College Sports Act. Among other things, it establishes a five-year eligibility window and caps conference sizes to 20 schools. Although he voted in favor of it, Senator John Kennedy expressed concerns, saying it includes an antitrust exemption for schools that puts undue limitations on student athletes’ potential earning ability.

The City of New Orleans launches an e-bike rebate program. It’s offering 12-hundred dollars to 50 income-qualified residents and 600 dollars to those who do not meet income qualifications to use towards the purchase of an e-bike. Those selected for the rebates will need to take an online safety training course and complete an in-person training session.
