Federal, state and local law enforcement officials in Shreveport announce a new multi-agency initiative called the Gator Task Force to target violent crime and drug trafficking in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. U.S. Attorney Zachary Keller says the task force officially started in July, and it’s already working.
The end of September normally leads to a rise in asthma attacks and asthma-related emergency room visits. Louisiana Department of Health nurse consultant Tanya (TAN-yuh) Cobb says environmental factors like pollen, mold, dust, smoke, aerosols and strong odors can trigger symptoms, including coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Cobb says people have unique triggers and symptoms.

Two people are given decades-long sentences in connection with the death of a Kansas City TV reporter who was in New Orleans covering Super Bowl 59 in January of 2025. Dannette Colbert is sentenced to 60 years, and Rickey White is sentenced to 45 years for the death of Adan Manzano. Both were convicted of racketeering, with Colbert also guilty of negligent homicide.
