The defensive backs coach at Calvary Baptist High School died in an early morning crash on Interstate 20 near Haughton today. The Bossier Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Virgil Williams dead just before 4:30 AM. Williams was a graduate of Evangel, winning two state titles for the Eagles. He went on to be a star football player at Southern University, where he was dubbed Virgil Island.
