A school bus crashed in Grant Parish on Friday evening. According to Sheriff Steven McCain, 21 students were on board and 19 were sent to a hospital, with most going to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Two students had to be airlifted to a Shreveport-area trauma center. The Grant Parish School Board released a statement on social media that all students are safe after following the accident and no casualties have been reported. The district is working with emergency responders and says more information will be released as it becomes available.
Number-eight LSU hosts Louisiana Tech tonight at 6:30. LSU is 20-1 all-time versus Tech, with the only loss coming in 1904 in Ruston. Both teams are coming off of blowout wins in their season openers. Bulldogs coach Sonny Cumbie says the experience playing in Death Valley last year will help, and there is little room for error.

The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed rabies in a dog in Acadiana. This is the first confirmed case in a Louisiana dog since 2014 and only the fifth in the state in the past 20 years. While rabies in dogs is rare in Louisiana the virus remains present in the state and is most commonly found in wildlife, particularly bats and skunks. Louisiana law requires dogs, cats, and ferrets over three months old to be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian.
