Barksdale Air Force Base played a key role in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks 25 years ago today. It was there where President Bush flew to after leaving a Sarasota, Florida, elementary school. The current commander of Barksdale, Colonel Chris Cain, says while the staff at Barksdale did not anticipate accommodating the President that day, they were prepared for it.

In the 25 years since that terrible day, anti-terrorism intelligence at all levels has become a lot more sophisticated. Mark Fontenot with GOHSEP says as part of its main responsibility, the office does a lot of public outreach.

Investigators are searching for the remains of two missing south Louisiana women that could be buried in West Feliciana Parish on the property of 43-year-old Thomas Morris. Jeff Palermo has the story.

Police in New Orleans are looking for a man who’s been missing for a week. Police say Tyler Bugh was celebrating his 36th birthday in the French Quarter with cash pinned to him, and he hasn’t been seen since.
