As 2015 is coming to an end, State Climatologist Barry Keim has put together a list of the top weather events in Louisiana for the year. Eric Gill reports…:

A St. Mary Parish Deputy was shot and injured while responding to an incident in Ashton, and State Police is leading the investigation. They say the deputies were responding to a scene of a possible shooting where they located a male subject who was injured. After transferring the man to the hospital and attempting to secure the scene, they were fired upon by the suspect and one deputy was injured. The suspect is also injured and faces many charges. The investigation is ongoing.

A line of strong, severe thunderstorms moved through the state overnight leaving thousands without power. Meteorologist Alek Krautmann, with the National Weather Service in Slidell, says wind gusts of well over 30 miles per hour wreaked havoc over Louisiana…:

He said the record high temps seem to be done as a cold front moved through behind the severe weather system.

Many in the “Who Dat?” nation are wondering if head coach Sean Payton will coach his last game with the Saints this Sunday at Atlanta. Rumors have been swirling that Payton will seek another opportunity in the NFL following this season. Payton has been the Saints head coach for the past 10 seasons, which NFL analyst Mike Detillier says is an eternity in today’s NFL. Detillier believes Payton is leaning more toward one way than the other…:

Detillier says the task of rebuilding the team and the unsettled team ownership issue could play a big part in Payton’s decision.
