The search for the remains of 15-year-old Ja’Derrius Minnieweather near Baton Rouge has now entered its fourth week. So far, searchers have invested some 46-hundred man hours and have sifted through 34-hundred cubic yards of material. Rotating teams are combing through about 40 cubic yards of material at a time, examining it inch-by-inch.
A SpaceX launch facility is one step closer to coming to coastal Vermilion Parish. Stephanie Riegel, the Business Editor for the Times-Picayune, says despite the investment in a rural parish, there have been negative effects at a similar facility near Boca Chica, Texas.

Riegel says it’s unknown how much money the company plans to invest or how many direct jobs it would create.
A suspect is shot by a Livingston Parish deputy following a chase that ended on I-55 in Tangipahoa Parish. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard says the suspect fought the deputy’s Taser and turned it on him; and in his words, the deputy did what he had to do to survive the situation and shot the suspect.
