Louisiana is close to bringing a SpaceX launch facility to coastal Vermilion Parish. Stephanie Riegel, the Business Editor for the Times-Picayune, says the plan is to bring the company to 130-thousand acres of land the state obtained in a recent settlement with Exxon. She says the state legislature passed a collection of incentives in the last legislative session.

A suspect is injured in an officer-involved shooting in Tangipahoa Parish this morning. It started when a deputy in neighboring Livingston Parish tried pulling the driver over in Albany. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard says the driver drove off.
The deputy tried to use his Taser, but he fought the Taser and turned it on the deputy, and that’s when he shot the suspect.
Attorney General Liz Murrill says Louisiana will join Florida and Alabama in investigating Dr. Anthony Fauci, claiming that he lied about the origin of the COVID virus, the need to wear masks and other things. Loyola University law professor Dane Ciolino says convicting Fauci on those grounds would be a very tall task.
