State Police say a train-car collision in New Iberia has left three dead and three others injured. They say the train was unable to avoid a collision with the car that was stopped on the tracks. Three vehicle occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were transported to a local hospital. At last report, two of the injured were listed in critical condition. Investigators say the crossing arms and lights were working at the intersection and they’re now trying to determine why the car was stopped on the tracks.

The American Automobile Association projects that over 100 million holiday travelers will travel 50 miles or more for the holidays this year. AAA spokesman Don Redman says lower gas prices, an improved economy, and holidays falling on the weekend make it much easier for people to travel this holiday season. The search for three year old child who wandered away from his home in Franklin Parish Monday night, ended tragically Tuesday morning when his body was found in a canal. Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb says this is a horrible tragedy that has rocked their small community…
