State police in Shreveport are investigating an officer involved shooting.  According to published reports it happened yesterday morning just after four in an alleyway near Sand Bar just after.  According to a report from State Police , Shreveport officers were responding to a call there when they encountered an armed suspect.  We’re told the armed suspect was shot and died at the scene.  One officer was also shot, but his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

The funeral of legendary former Southern baseball coach Roger Cador will be held on campus today. Cador passed away at the age of 74 last week after battling brain cancer. Dan Canevari coached with Cador for three years and says Cador never had a bad day.
