Four-star defensive back Greedy James has flipped his commitment from Texas. James is from Manvel, Texas, and he says he changed his verbal pledge because of the culture at LSU and he wants to be coached by secondary coach Corey Raymond. James is a safety in high school but expected to play cornerback at LSU.
The LSU Tigers are a month away from their first fall camp under new head coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin has welcomed 39 new players from the transfer portal, including three of the top ten-rated portal prospects. Tiger Rag Editor Glenn Guilbeau says expectations are high given the talent in Baton Rouge.

LSU’s offense ranked last in the SEC in total yards and rushing yards last season. Kiffin has overhauled the offense with new receivers, offensive linemen, added to the running back room and signed three new quarterbacks including former Arizona State starter Sam Leavitt.

Former Saints linebacker Keith Mitchell has passed away at the age of 51. He signed with New Orleans in 1997 as an undrafted free agent after a standout career at Texas A&M and ended up as a starter and a special teams standout. His best season was in 2000, when the Saints won the NFC West and won its first playoff game. Mitchell had 272 tackles during his time with the Saints from 1997 to 2001.
Southern University will hold a public viewing for Coach Roger Cador on Monday afternoon at the F-G Clark Activity Center on the campus of Southern University. A memorial service will be held at six PM. The legendary baseball coach passed away this week after a bout with brain cancer at the age of 74.
LSU baseball officially announced it will play in Las Vegas next season as the Tigers are one of four teams that will play in the Live Like Lou College Baseball Classic alongside Arizona State, Iowa and Oregon State. The weekend tournament is scheduled March 5th through the 7th and the Tigers will play a different team each day. LSU will stay an extra day to take on UNLV in a single game March 8.
