LSU right-handed pitcher Zac Cowan has been named the SEC Co-pitcher of the week. He earned two victories last week. Four scoreless innings in relief out of the bullpen against Southeastern Louisiana and then yesterday, the senior right-hander got the start and threw six shutout innings against South Carolina.

LSU’s pitchers were in command all weekend as they swept the Gamecocks, allowing just four runs during the three game series. Coach Jay Johnson says throwing strikes makes a difference…

The Tigers are 9-15 in the SEC. They need to get to 13 conference wins to have a chance at making the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will host Tulane tomorrow night.

 

The Ragin Cajuns defeated Georgia State four to three on Sunday to complete the sweep and a 5-0 week. Shortstop Blaze Rodriguez was part of a dramatic double play to end the game and says getting the brooms out is always fun…

ULM will host Mississippi Valley State tonight. The Warhawks were swept by 12th ranked Southern Miss this past weekend. In a couple of the losses ULM held Southern Miss to three runs or less. Coach Ford Pemberton’s team has just two conference wins over the last three weekends, despite some good performances on the mound…
