Angola Warden Burl Cain has decided to give up his post at the end of the year after nearly 21 years on the job. Cain’s resignation comes weeks after The Advocate newspaper questioned whether his real estate deals with relatives and friends of inmates violated Department of Corrections rules. A 14-year-old bicyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in Prairieville, and the driver of the vehicle charged with negligent homicide. State Police Trooper Bryan Lee say the crash happened as the victim, Brennan Rube of Prairieville, was riding his bike on LA 73, and 26-year-old Joshua Ashford of Gonzales approached in his truck…:

The American Automobile Association says the current statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $1.83. A year ago we were paying $2.46.
