A little bit of a slow start, but the fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team eventually got it going and defeated Tennessee 89 to 73 to clinch a double bye in next week’s SEC Tournament. It was also the final regular-season home game for Flau’Jae Johnson, who had ten points. Johnson is looking forward to seeing what this team can do in March…

Louisiana Tech’s DJ Dudley had 27 points as the Bulldogs edged Missouri State 72 to 70. Will Allen had 13 points and scored the winning basket as he followed up a missed shot with a layup with eight seconds left.
The Pelicans defeated the tanking Utah Jazz 129 to 118. Saddiq Bey had 42 points!

The second-ranked LSU baseball team looks to bounce back tonight against Dartmouth after suffering its first loss of the season to McNeese on Tuesday. Coach Jay Johnson gave an injury update on senior left fielder Chris Stanfield.
Johnson also said sophomore catcher Cade Arrambide, who exited Tuesday’s game with a foot injury, is fine and will play this weekend.
The Ragin Cajuns have won seven in a row, and they host U-C San Diego. The 8-and-1 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs welcome 12th-ranked Southern Miss to J-C Love Field for a three-game series. ULM, which is 5-and-5, will host Western Illinois.
Southland play begins this weekend…McNeese is at Nicholls, while Northwestern hosts Southeastern.
