The City of Alexandria kicks off their first annual Alex Winter Fete today. The three day winter festival will take place in downtown Alexandria. Director of Community Services Daniel Williams says tonight will start out with a visit from Santa and a variety of street performers.
Williams says Saturday will be a full day of activities with bands on the main stage, as well as, a carnival aspect with food vendors everywhere. He says the biggest attraction for the festival is an ice skating rink, which will be open in the evenings.
Williams says Saturday there will be an Ugly Christmas Sweater 5-K run and an ugly sweater contest immediately following the run. He expects a lot of people to come out to Alex Winter Fete, especially because of the free ice skating rink.

LSU President F. King Alexander says the final decision on whether or not to keep Les Miles as head coach wasn’t made until after halftime of the Texas A&M game according to business-report-dot-com.
