Leaders for a Better Louisiana want businesses to know they will be rewarded for helping their employees with childcare. Chief Policy Officer, Barry Erwin, says the new Workforce Child Care Tax Credit is available to businesses which provide top notch childcare within their own facilities or help pay their employees’ childcare costs.

He says the enhanced credit is a tool to help attract and retain top talent. Businesses can claim the credit on their tax returns beginning in 2027.

Three Democrats are vying for their party’s nomination in the U.S. Senate race. The first to enter, Jamie Davis, expressed concern for immigrants saying those who are legally going through the asylum process need to be treated better than they’re currently being treated.

Political consultant Tracie Burke and former Housing Authority of New Orleans Chief of Staff Jabarie Walker are also seeking the Democratic nomination.

Crawfish season is here but it’s early so prices are pretty high. According to the Crawfish App, live mudbugs are over seven dollars per pound, and boiled crawfish are over ten dollars per pound. Laney King, founder of the app, says prices will come down.
