Christmas Tree Farmer Clark Gernon, owner of Shady Pond Tree Farm in Pearl River, says the trees are doing just fine even after the dry summer but are just not as tall as they typically would be. Gernon advises those searching for a tree to measure the width to ensure it fits in your home.

Rain is expected across north Louisiana due to cold front that stretches across the entire United States. Davyon Hill, with the National Weather Service in Shreveport, says the rain will continute for the next couple of days. State Police say Thanksgiving began with five fatalities on the road in two different wrecks. Trooper Melissa Mately says early Thursday morning a single vehicle crash in Plaquemines Parish caused the death of the driver and two passengers.
