Louisiana Tech rallied from a14-6 deficit in the Independence Bowl to beat Coastal Carolina 23 to 14 in Shreveport yesterday. The victory is LA Tech’s first bowl win since 2019 and the Bulldogs finish the season 8-and-5, head coach Sonny Cumbie’s best mark in four years in Ruston. Cumbie says, despite national narratives, bowl games are as important as ever, and he hopes this season’s success can welcome a new era in Bulldogs football.

Darrell Barbay of Mansfield has been named the Class 2A Coach of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Barbay led the Wolverines to their first ten-win season and quarterfinal appearance since 1993.

The quarterfinals of the CFP begin tonight with Ohio State taking on Miami in Arlington, Texas.
