The driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash causing the death of a cyclist in Lake Charles Saturday evening has been arrested. LCPD says 20-year-old Mathew Vipond called police the night of the crash to report he had been involved in a crash. He faces several charges including first degree vehicular negligent injuring, hit and run with death. Underage operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The cyclist, 64-year-old Jay Borom suffered multiple injuries and was transported to a Baton Rouge hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
