Richland Parish Congressman Ralph Abraham is spending Thanksgiving with American service men and women fighting in Afghanistan. Abraham is joined by other members of Congress in eating a Thanksgiving Day meal with the troops. He will also meet with military and Afghani government officials to receive updates on security, political transitions, and counter-terrorism initiatives.

According to the US Fire Administration, the average number of home fires nearly double on Thanksgiving as compared to any other day of the year. State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says there have been some serious fires in Louisiana due to frying turkeys. He says following a few steps will ensure that you safely fry your birds this holiday season…

Former Governor Edwin Edwards is in a hospital battling pneumonia this Thanksgiving. Edwards last public appearance was Saturday, as he and wife Trina attended Governor-elect John Bel Edwards election party in New Orleans. Edwards biographer, Leo Honeycutt, says this isn’t the first time Edwards has been diagnosed with pneumonia…
