The American Tort Reform Foundation says the ongoing coastal litigation is the fourth biggest judicial hellhole in the country. This year, Chevron was ordered to pay 744-million dollars to Plaquemines Parish; Chevron has appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, claiming that state court was not the proper venue. Foundation President Tiger Joyce says Chevron has a good case.

Christmas week is next week, and that means another busy travel week. And Triple-A says this year will be another record-breaker, with more than 122-million Americans heading out of town for the holidays. Don Redman with Triple-A Louisiana says the closer we get to Christmas Day, the busier the roads will be.

This weekend is the last weekend before Christmas, and more people than ever are expected to get their last-minute shopping in. Andre Champagne has more.

The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says highly pathogenic avian flu is killing wild birds in the state. LDWF says fall migrations have created a resurgence of HPAI-induced disease in waterfowl and other birds. While this strain is of minimal threat to humans, LDWF says you should never handle a sick bird.
