If you’ll be drinking this holiday season, be sure you don’t get behind the wheel. “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” is happening now through New Year’s day state wide.  Greg Fischer with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission says the holiday season has traditionally is always deadly on Louisiana roadways due to drinking and driving, and last year was no different.

Cut 4 (13) “…alcohol-related crash.”

Fischer says if you plan on having a good time at your holiday gatherings, by all means do so – but have a plan to get home safely.

Cut 5 (06) “…a designated driver.”

Lots of people will be headed to the LHSAA Prep Classic to watch state championship football today.  Ruston is set to take on Ouachita Parish at noon.  . At 3:30 it’s a battle of New Orleans football giants:  Edna Karr versus St. Aug.

Haynesville claimed its 18th football state championship Thursday after beating Mangham, 39-37.  Haynesville had made it to the state championship game in the last three seasons but came up short.  Head coach David Franklin says the character of his players this season allowed the team to flourish this season

Everyone’s talking about the wild ending of last night’s St. Charles Catholic versus Shaw match up in the Division Two select state title game.  Senior Tyler Milioto overcame a missed extra point with 36 seconds left and thanks to a Shaw penalty, got a second chance to win it for his team.  Our own Jeff Palermo had the call on the LHSAA Network…

Milioto kicked a 44-yeard game wining field goal to give the Comets the win 23-21
