LSU Coach Les Miles does not want speculation of his firing to distract his team as it prepares for the final regular season game against Texas A&M. The coach sidestepped a question on whether he’s spoken with any LSU administrators about his job security saying the only instruction he’s received is to continue doing his job…

Speculation over whether LSU would fire Miles at the end of the season has ramped up this week after a third consecutive loss on Saturday to Ole Miss.

And now LSU has lost a four-star recruit, a guy man thought would be a future quarterback for the Tigers. Feleipe Franks has decommitted from LSU as he announced his decision on Twitter. Franks gave a verbal pledge to LSU in the spring of 2014, but this past weekend was on Florida’s campus to watch the Gators take on Florida Atlantic. LSU’s 2016 recruiting class is now without a quarterback.

McNeese State’s Matt Viator has been named the Southland Conference Coach of the Year. Viator has guided the Cowboys to a perfect 10-0 overall record, 9-0 in the league. McNeese is a number four national seed in the FCS playoffs. The Cowboys Wallace Scott is the league’s defensive player of the year. Scott leads a McNeese defense that’s allowing just eleven points a game.

Louisiana Tech is gearing up for a big football game this Saturday in Ruston as they host Louisiana Tech. The winner is the West Division champs and will play in the Conference USA Championship game.

Also this Saturday, it’s the Bayou Classic as Southern takes on Grambling State. Grambling is ranked number one in the latest Sheridan poll.

In college baseball…Louisiana Tech has hired Christian Ostrander as its new pitching coaching. Ostrander was the head coach at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi and compiled a record of 255-and-109 in seven seasons.

In college hoops…After losing last night to Marquette, the LSU men’s basketball team looks to rebound with a win today against North Carolina State. Southeastern Louisiana is at 24th ranked Cincincinnati and Louisiana Tech visits Ohio State.
