The Lafourche Parish School Board is under fire for its handling of a group of male students who share A-I produced nude images of female classmates. One of the victims was expelled for hitting a boy who had shared an image of her. Her father told the board that his daughter has suffered from depression so severe that he had to hire a counselor.

The board eventually reduced her expulsion to suspension. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has charged one boy for sharing those images, and more charges are likely.

 

The Pelicans fired coach Willie Green Saturday after the team lost ten out of their first 12 games and many by lopsided scores. Head of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars says wins and losses weren’t the main reason for the decision to fire Green.

About 12-thousand drivers who have auto insurance through Allstate will see a decrease on their auto insurance premiums next year.   Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple says the rate decreases of 7 percent and 15 percent are good news…but tells us there’s more work needed to address commercial auto insurance…

The rate changes are for customers of Encompass Insurance and Allstate North American Insurance.

 

A new report shows military-related spending in Louisiana generated more than 17-billion dollars in total economic activity last year. Louisiana Veterans Affairs Secretary Charlton Meginley says there has been notable expansion in the state’s defense sector since the previous study four years ago…
