The Saints got win number two on the season yesterday as New Orleans upset Carolina 17-7. Tyler Shough became the first Saints rookie quarterback to win a start since 1981 as the 26-year-old threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns.
The Black and Gold also played complimentary football. The Saints’ defense forced two turnovers, including an interception by Alontae Taylor that led to the Saints’ second touchdown of the day that for all intents and purposes sealed the win. Taylor credits the coaching staff for putting him in a position to make the impact play.

The Saints improve to 2-and-8 on the season as they head into their bye week. Their next game is in two weeks against Atlanta in the Superdome.
LSU’s defense played well against one of the top pass offenses in the country but lost to fourth-ranked Alabama 20-9 Saturday. Grambling won its fourth straight on Saturday, beating Bethune-Cookman 31-23, but a huge brawl erupted minutes before start of the second half. Ten players were ejected, five from each team.
