On Saturday night, LSU led 3rd ranked Texas A&M at halftime, about 24 hours later, Coach Brian Kelly was fired as the head coach of the Fighting Tigers.

The Tigers abysmal performance in the second half against the Aggies was the last straw. Kelly said this after LSU was outscored 35-7 in the second half…

The Saints are now 1-7 for the first time since 1999 after losing to Tampa Bay 23 to 3 yesterday. Another rough game for quarterback Spencer Rattler as he turned it over twice and was benched for rookie Tyler Shough (Shuck). Shough wasn’t much better as he threw for only 128 yards on 30 pass attempts and was intercepted once.

The Saints’ next game is against the Rams in Los Angeles this Sunday. Coach Kellen Moore says he’s not interested in flipping back and forth between quarterbacks, so he hopes to decide soon on who will start this Sunday in L-A…

Elsewhere in the NFL, the Jets rallied to beat the Bengals 39 to 38 for New York’s first win. Former LSU Tiger Mason Taylor caught the game tying touchdown pass in the final two minutes.
