New Orleans voters will chose their next Mayor this weekend.  And according to recent polls, Helena Moreno should win by a long shot.  But will she the the 50 percent plus one share of the vote to win outright? John Couvillon, the founder of JMC Analytics and Polling, says maybe…as the other candidates – Royce Duplessis and Oliver Thomas – have not been much headway during the campaign.

Cut 8 (14) “…New Orleans nowadays.”

A special session could happen later this month to discuss pushing back the qualifying and party primary dates for the 2026 federal election. There had been talk about redrawing the Congressional district map, but since the U-S Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on it next week, Senate Governmental Affairs Chairman Caleb Kleinpeter says they’ll wait on a ruling.
