A slow moving weather system has flooded some roads and sandbags are needed in low lying areas of south Louisiana. Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal says they have several roads flooded. High water has also been reported in East Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and St. Martin Parishes. Kevin Davis, director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, advises residents to avoid areas where the roadway is flooded…

Flash Flood Watches are in effect through the evening and National Weather Service forecasts indicate the threat of flooding could extend into the weekend.

A 54-year-old Church Point man is dead after being pinned under a vehicle after a jack malfunctioned. The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office says Paul Brent Bourgeois was removing the front tires on a vehicle when the jack gave way. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office says two people from Raceland are under arrest for allegedly abusing four children all under the age of 13. Spokesman Brennan Matherne says juvenile detectives were called to investigate a complaint regarding physical and sexual abuse of the kids…

Matherne says Triche is booked with four counts of cruelty to juveniles with force and violence. Gaudet is charged with the same and also three counts of aggravated rape.

A Houma teen is under arrest for allegedly stabbing his brother. The Houma Police Department says 17-year-old Dominique Moses and his older brother were having an argument when Moses armed himself with a knife and attacked his brother. Moses has been charged with attempted murder.
