Another company announces an investment in Lafayette. Baton Rouge-based electrical contractor MMR announces that it’s expanding its footprint in Louisiana by investing in a new assembly plant in Lafayette. Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois says it’s a huge win for both Lafayette and the state.

The Saints picked up their first victory on Sunday, defeating the Giants 26-14 and second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler earned his first win as a starter in the NFL after starting his career 0-10. Rattler says that he isn’t worried about the past and is focused on improving each week to help his team.

UNO may soon return to the name LSUNO, the name it was known by until 1974. Originally part of the LSU System, UNO dropped the Louisiana State part of its name years before it fell under the University of Louisiana System in 2011. This year, lawmakers approved their return to the LSU System to address financial concerns and there’s move to return the name and there are mixed feelings. Some say the LSUNO name is better because of the LSU brand others UNO supports the school’s unique identity.
